Donna Jean has just released a terrific remix of a song that she's previously recorded with Jeff Mattson (Dark Star Orchestra, Zen Tricksters) under the name,  Donna Jean and the Tricksters. The song is called "Shelter" and we discuss that, some Grateful Dead stuff and more. Then I spin the new remix and a bunch of other great music from Keith & Donna Band and the good old Grateful Dead.

David Nelson Band and Dire Wolves

Greetings, Dead Freaks!

This episode features two interviews and a new song from each artist. First up Barry Sless of the David Nelson Band chats with me about their new song, with lyrics by the late Robert Hunter: "Movin' Right Along." After we spin that great tune, I talk with Jeffrey Alexander of Dire Wolves (Just Exactly Perfect Sisters Band) and we play a new song from their forthcoming record, "I Just Wasn't Made For These Set Times." Jeffrey and I then talk Grateful Dead and spin some great tunes.

023 - Summer Tour Sampler

Hey there, Dead Freaks!

It's July, the Summer heat is here to stay and there's no better time to be on the road. In this episode, we head out on the road to check in with Dead & Company and Phil Lesh. Both bands are doing some great things on stages all over the place so I've pulled a couple great jams to either cool down or heat up your listening space. These jams can do both. After that, we reach into the vault for some good old Grateful Dead.

We even take a request! (There's a solid reason to follow some of the social media. Watch for future request solicitations...)

015 - Bobby Songs

We begin the Spring thaw with a visit from my good friend and the founder of both the Helping Friendly Podcast and the Osiris Podcast Network, RJ Bee. RJ wanted to talk about Bobby songs so that's just what we'll do. We also, spend a fair amount of time discussing the work of the late John Perry Barlow. Barlow's writing for the Grateful Dead along with his advocacy for an open internet via the Electronic Frontier Foundation are both keys to the very existence of this podcast. He will be missed and forever held in the utmost esteem.

As of late February, the Brokedown Podcast became a charter member of the Osiris Podcast Network. Osiris is a growing community of music and culture podcasts, connecting music fans with conversation, commentary and music.
