Matt Valentine Returns

Greetings Dead Freaks!

We're back again for a new year with a special episode that features the return of Matt Valentine (Wet Tuna, MV & EE) to the podcast. We get kind of out there on this long chat but, along the way, we talk about long form music as a practice, the fiddlyness of envelope filters, and then zoom in on the upcoming Wet Tuna/Dunza split 7" release. Lastly we talk about the one hundred minute mix of MV's music that  fills out the rest of this episode. Tune in for the rap, stay for the ride.

You can get "In The Running 3, Wet Tuna/Dunza" split 7" from I Heart Noise via bandcamp. Head over to IHeartNoise.Bandcamp.com to pre-order yours today. There's also a cool trailer to watch when you're there!

Thanks to James Toth for popping in with some comments for this episode.

Thanks also to Matt Valentine, for not only being my guest  but for asking me to make this mix and share it with all of you.

You can keep up with Matt's releases and shows and whatnot via his pair of blogs: MVandEE.blogspot and WetTuna.blogspot. Of course, you should also follow his bandcamp pages for MV & EE and Wet Tuna. The latter is where you'll find the Longform Editions but both have a wealth of music to discover. Dig in.

PG Six

Greetings Dead Freaks!

In this episode we welcome PG Six (aka  Pat Gubler) to the show to talk about his latest release, "PG Six / Louise Bock - All Summer Long Is Gone". But that's just a sliver of the ground we cover as he's not only an active member of Garcia Peoples and Wet Tuna, but there's more than twenty years of work to discuss! The conversation is augmented and followed by a few selections from his more recent work before I spin a nice slab of Grateful Dead.

"All Summer Long Is Gone" is a duo album billed as PG Six / Louise Bock and is available on cassette from Feeding Tube Records here. The solo, live, album PG Six "Live At the Tavern" is also available from Feeding Tube Records. It's on vinyl as was as a digital download via Bandcamp.

If you're looking for more Wet Tuna, the quickest path to enlightenment is via the Wet Tuna Bandcamp page. The "Eau To A Fake Bookie" physical release that we discuss is available there or go directly to it here. Looking for Garcia Peoples?  They have a bandcamp page too, which features the upcoming album, "Dodging Dues", which is out in early January 2022.

You can find PG Six's releases on Drag City over on that label's artist page, here.

There's no Bandcamp page for the long defunct Tower Recordings but I wish you luck in your journey.
