Keller Williams

Welcome back, Dead Freaks! On this episode I have an extended chat with guitarist Keller Williams about his long career as a solo artist and his many collaborations. We take it all the way back to his first guitar and up to this Summer's much anticipated shows with the Keels, Grateful Grass, and solo, of course. After touching on Michael Hedges, Leo Kottke, Charlie Hunter, and John Fahey; we also manage to get some Grateful Dead into the conversation.

You can get all of the details on Keller Williams' upcoming shows, including links for tickets, at his website www.kellerwilliams.net.

On the episode, Keller and I get into a tangent about the 1998 Autumn Equinox Festival at Wilmer's Park in Brandywine, MD. Here's a link the Benji Eisen's writeup of the show at jambands.com.

Also in this episode, I mention Bob Weir & Wolf Brothers' tour but, at the time of the recording, I didn't have any news. As soon as I wrapped it up, NPR Music posted a delightful Tiny Desk Concert appearance. This was taped last year, just after Lockn' but the wait has certainly paid off. You can watch the video and enjoy a jamming Bird Song (with Mikaela Davis on harp & vocals) over at NPR Music.
